32 Year Old Event Cancelled by Weather
This weekend should have seen the return of the 32nd annual Fall Kite Festival at the D River Wayside. The skies should have been filled with giant kites as well as the very maneuverable quad-line kites. Unfortunately, the skies were filled with drops of moisture in the form of unrelenting rains. Plans for the event included the popular giant kites, rokkaku kites, and a kid’s parade, but instead there was just wet sand. For the first time some of the events were planned to occur in the Lincoln City Cultural Center such as kite making demonstrations, kite displays and miniatures kites. This part of the day was not impacted by the inclement weather. We have a few pictures of this wet event.
