Fireworks Preparation Complete

Neighbors Construct Massive Dock to Launch Display

The Devils Lake Neighborhood Association brought its best out to Leisure Bay to construct the launching pad for the  First Annual DLNA fireworks display. This massive dock is 1,200 square feet with a ton of flotation as it will be loaded Saturday morning with 6,000 lbs of explosives! Enjoy the slide show of this grand project and follow this link to the complete photo album.

The contract is signed and our show will be held on Saturday July 5th beginning at 9:30pm last 20-30 minutes and include some very special displays. Preceding the display the DLNA will be leading a Boat parade beginning in front of Regatta Park at 7pm.  Deck you boat with patriotic fare and gather at Regatta Park and take a lap around the lake to celebrate this great country. After the parade you can select the perfect viewing location as this spectacular show will be launched off a barge centrally located on the lake near Brown Bear Park, and will be clearly visible from D River Wayside, Regatta Park and Sand Point Park.

We have received several donations and wish to thank all who have contributed.  We are still gathering gifts for this spectacular fireworks show and are looking for Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors. (Gold $1,000, Silver $500, Bronze $250)  Please contact Max Hanson at [email protected] or 541 994-7771 with your interest in donating at the sponsor level, or follow this donation link or the fireworks button in the sidebar to contribute any other amount for this wonderful show.

Our family and guests thought the parade AND the fireworks show were a resounding success! Perfect weather didn’t hurt, either. That lake-bottom sludge we’ve been hearing about for weeks definitely got stirred up by the parade, and there was major aeration and possibly flushing as well. Thank you to the DLNA and all the others who made it happen.
