The Devil’s Lake Water Improvement District’s (DLWID) Manager and Lincoln City officials have advocated the creation of new City Ordinances to regulate septic tanks tributary to Devils Lake. A “Septic Tank Revitalization Program” would assess the condition of septic systems in the watershed. Unfortunately, the initial program had some issues that created concerns among lake front residents. This website helped residents become familure with the topic and advocate their position. The goal was to convince the DLWID board to review the program and if necessary make recommendations to the City to modify the Septic Tank Revitalization Program. The District did listen and negotiated changes to the program which seem to satisfy most residents. This page is devoted to providing information on the program as it moves through it first legal draft, to implementation and report on the results of its findings.
