HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!
For our nation's 250th birthday, we wanted to make the fireworks show a little more special--and I think we pulled it off!! We hope you all enjoyed the lake and the beautiful weather we had for an amazing display on July 3rd. The boat parade on July 4th had a great turnout with over 60 participants showing off their uniquely decorated boats and enthusiasm. It is always wonderful to see the community come together. The City's display on the 4th also seemed to have a good draw, and provided another spectacular show for a full weekend of celebrating!
Thank you to everyone who helped us have another year of unforgettable festivities. I would like to specifically recognize Bill Sexton for his continued help and support. For those of you that may not be aware, along with donating his time to transport the barge to and from the show destination, Bill also allows the staging of the fireworks barge on his property. A big part of his day is helping to ensure things go smoothly for the show at the expense of spending that time with his family. We greatly appreciate his efforts year after year, among all of the other things he helps out with on the lake. Please be sure to give him a big thank you if you have the chance. THANK YOU, BILL!!
Along with the volunteer time donated by various people to make this show happen, is the financial side. We are so grateful for the support and donations we have received to date. Thank you to all who have contributed!! However, with rising costs, and small shortfalls in our fundraising for the past two years, we still need your help! As of this writing, we are still over $11,000 short of our goal this year. 100% of your contributions go directly to the cost of the fireworks. Please help us keep this tradition alive, and consider donating today:
